Trentham 76 vs Whitchurch 26

Whitchurch 2nds endured another tough Saturday afternoon, having only 12 players for the trip to Trentham. The game was reduced to a friendly and Trentham kindly offered one of their players to make the game 14 v 13.

The game quickly got out of sight with Trentham scoring a number of tries out wide using their pacy players to hurt Whitchurch on the overlap.

Despite being 50-0 down at half time, Whitchurch rallied and managed to tie the second half 26-26. Trenthams player borrowed to Whitchurch scored 2 tries which gave heart to Whitchurch and the confidence change meant a much more even contest in the second half. Tom Wellsbury powered over a real forwards try after great work from Phil Patrick, Sam Chaloner and Sean Mazan, this was followed by Mat Grindley finding a gap at 10 off a set piece to score a fourth try of the match for Whitchurch.

Whitchurch 2s have 3 games left and hope to finish on a high, despite a tough season.
