Newent arrived at Edgeley Park as clear league leaders with a 100 per cent record and it was hard not to see why in this hard fought, but never close, battle. The slick hands of their speedy backs created a try within eight minutes to put them ahead but the Shropshire men fought back and forced a penalty a few minutes later.

Whitchurch welcomed Cheltenham for their first ever fixture against the club and it was the visitors who took early control with a converted try in the first 5 minutes. The home team then started to apply pressure and were awarded a penalty in front of the posts 5 minutes later…

Another tough away game for the Whitchurch team who seem to be getting better and better by the game. The pitch was in good condition considering the amount of rain we have had, and a nice sunny afternoon saw Whitchurch take the early lead.
